11/29 Heard in the Waiting Room

  • Former soap writer Tom Casiello debunks the Quick-Cut myth.  While the quick cut technique of filming is welcomed in scenes that heighten tension and action, such as an emergency scene in the hospital, the use of it during an emotional scene kills the feeling you're trying to invoke.  Big emotional payoffs shouldn't have just one beat to a scene, before it's cut to a scene across town [Emma's birth is a clear example of the quick-cut abuse, in my opinion].

By clicking on ‘Read More’, you understand that you will be reading the latest Scrubs-related spoilers and speculations …some of which are pretty reliable and others may be designed to incite panic/false hope in a fanbase. Enter at your own risk!!

Special thanks to the Scrubbies relaying this information…here are the Spoilers and Speculations for the day:

Expected GH Scrubs airdates (breakdowns from Lisa)

Year's Wildest Stories:Robin vs. Patrick (source)
What do you get when you combine a woman's ticking biological clock with a man's innate desire to remain a playboy bachelor? Trouble with a capital T, which rhymes with B, that stands for baby! After dumping commitment-phobic Patrick, Robin went around asking just about every guy in town to, um, make a donation to her baby fund, if you catch our drift. But Georgie's death drove a grieving Robin to seek comfort in her ex's bed, and quicker than you can say "babydaddy!" she got pregnant. Proving doctors really don't know everything, Patrick somehow deluded himself into believing he wasn't the dad. Even after realizing that he was the pop, Patrick and Robin spent months breaking up for one silly reason ("You wrote a nasty blog about me!") or another before finally getting their act together and realizing with a little help from Mac and a pair of handcuffs, they belonged together.
2009 Predictions
"Expect to see Patrick and Robin putting in a lot more hours as much more of the soap's action unfolds at the hospital. Also, at least one new character will be thrown into the mix, sending several lives into turmoil" Then there's some other stuff, about the rest of the show. So, I don't know if the new character is involved with Scrubs, or just the hospital. Take it for what you will. There's also a pic with a caption that says "Will Robin find out just how tough it really is to try and have it all?"

Anything on the wedding since it was filmed-do Scrubs get a rehearsal dinner or any lovey dovey scenes just them no Emma
No they don't. The wedding is very Emma focused
I am not being a smartass but how can a wedding be Emma focused?
Their vows are about them and Emma. She is at the altar with them. Etc.

Other soaps like Y&R have a year long story "bible" in which they have long plans in terms of writing. WTF do GH and TIIC follow? Cause based on thier writing it just seems they don't plan ANYTHING Thoughts or info?
Actually it is very well planned out, usually.
Guza submits the bible, which is basically a 200-300 page novel, with a chapter devoted to each storyline he plans on covering within a time period.
Frons reads it, writes suggestions in the margins, and sends it back.
Guza makes corrections, sends it to Frons, who reads it, signs off on it, and they send it to breakdown writers.
Occasionally, although not as often as you would believe, if all your info came from this board, there are some revisions and then Guza does a 20-40 page document, sends it to Frons for approval and then depending on where the show is at, within regards to the rewrite, it goes either to breakdown or to script writers.
It gets kind of messy(and I think that's where you're seeing what seems to be unplanned) if it occurs after its been sent to script writers because if you get a few pages explaining a change and several different writers have to incorporate it into their scripts then the chances of different interpretations are pretty substantial.

I don't mean to seem entitled but do you have anything to share on Patrick or Robin or Matt? If not I understand. Thanks for what you have dropped.
I've said it many times.
Scrubs are golden.
I think you'll hear some good news about them in January.

backstage insider:
Do you have any information on Kimberly,Robin or Scrubs?TIA
Kimberly's project for Lifetime is still waiting for a green light, last I heard.
How are things for the pairing of Scrubs? Is it true JT wants more medical stories for Patrick? Also are TPTB looking to break Scrubs up soon?
Yes to the JT question and no to the Scrubs question.
Is KMc asking for more story outside of Scrubs?
Yes. She wants more interaction with the Scorpios and has specifically expressed interest in working with KSt more.

I wouldn't count on either JT or KMc getting what they want. Patrick's part in the Dante secret is over for now and it may not be revisted and Maxie is busy with Kate and Carly's war for the forseeable future. She plays a part in the wedding but not as big of one as she did in the first wedding.

11/29
So Dante will be involved in
Sonny,Kate and Olivia storyline
Liason
Scrubs
and LuLu

At SSW, the couples that seem most popular were Scrubs, Liason and Spinmax and they sure aren't being protected.
None of them have a third party.
