11/11 Heard in the Waiting Room

  • Minae Noji (Kelly) and Kent King (Lainey) will take part in a live chat on Wednesday at 6:30pm PT. To enter the chat room, you will see "ENTER CHAT NOW" below the Big Adventure banner on the right hand side. The Chat room is Java, so you might want to see if you can get in before it begins. If you can't get in the chat room, go to the java website and download the program.
  • Soapnet announces 3 new series for 2009 - the reality series "Greg Behrendt's Wake-Up Call," the scripted drama "Being Erica" and the docusoap "Southern Belles" (working title)
  • The Wub Tub suggests that Kimberly, Jason and Finola get an Emmy nomination for yesterday's scenes
  • So, here's a little fangurl moment. I was over at Soapnet's GH page and noticed that they have 6 "Friends of General Hospital" - SON, SOS, SoapsOnABC, GH Fanclub, EyeOnSoaps, The Scrubs Hub (!!!!). I'm sure the roster rotates, but how cool is that to be linked back from the network (Lord knows how many hits I've sent their way LOL). Just had to share... :o)

By clicking on ‘Read More’, you understand that you will be reading the latest Scrubs-related spoilers and speculations …some of which are pretty reliable and others may be designed to incite panic/false hope in a fanbase. Enter at your own risk!!

The WHOLE [Thanksgiving] EPPY is Pat's dream. I don't need to prove myself. I know who I am and I know my info is pretty dead on. I don't really care who believes it or not. That is the boards perogative. As for leaving the board? Not gonna happen. I am going to stick around just for my "fans". No one is going to run me off. I like it here. So deal, haters.
Oh and the info spoiled for the first week of December is either funny, pathetic or just plain bait. I will tell you one thing it isn't...the truth.
Later.

AIG!!
Can you tell us if Pat's dream consists of other characters as well?

Robin, Liz, Coleman, Piph, Matt, Emma, Lainey, Carly, Kelly. Leyla and....Alan. He is alive in Pat's dream. The dream opens with Pat and Leyla in the locker room and they are hugging. Robin walks in and they meet for the first time. That is the only time Pat is with Leyla in that sense. He is with Liz afterwards. He is shown to be somewhat of a cad in the dream.

AIG do scrub end up at jakes at the end?
and robin is dating matt?

Yes to both. It is Matt and Robin's first though.
AIG

one more question
does patrick kiss anyone in the dream?

Yes.
Wasn't the original question what characters are in the dream?

My mistake. I misunderstod. Emma is on that day but not in the dream. The others I mentioned are in the dream.

So, it seems Soapnet has green lit two unscripted reality shows and a scripted drama called "All about Erica". I guess Nightshift was axed, bye bye Scrubs come 2009.
Okay, they are just my assumptions. So if you are saying they are wrong, what do you know? or are you just disagreeing with me based on your opinions and assumptions?

I'm disagreeing with you based on what I know. Not what I think.

The comedic Robin struggles arc lasts one day. ONE DAY. After that it is over. And yes the comedy part of it is that Patrick has no problems with basic things and Robin does.

OK. Well, thanks!
What are all those spoilers about the wacky hijinx of parental issues with Emma about then, do you know?

The wacky hijinks this week are Patrick hovering. Then when they bring Emma home they both get scared "wackily" (next Monday) and then there is one day devoted to Robin can't do this but Patrick can (next Wednesday). That is it.

Matt bonds with Emma and Patrick

hi guys,
so sweeps is done filming now, lots of stuff coming up in december
-themole-

A few quick items-

1. Do not be deterred from voicing your opinions, insights and concerns about the program whether it relates to violence against women, medical accuracy, continuity, veterans, history, or any other item.
2. Do not allow others to place your concerns and your choice to express the same in the context that the concerns only stem from dismay over certain characters sharing scenes.
3. The final analysis relative to NS2 is nearing completion. A final decision will be announced in the not so distant future.
4. The new programs announced for SoapNet require additional time to promote, craft, and gain interest with the viewing audience.

If the drop is proclaiming that NS3 will definitely not be among SoapNet's schedule, the information is incorrect. No final decision about production has been made to date.
F.A.F.
Any idea who TPTB are crediting for the slight raise in demos last week?

Sorry, I missed your second question. The analysis of the demos from last week continues. A comparative analysis of the weekly demos will follow sweeps.
F.A.F.
Do you think they will really listen to viewers who are upset with all the things you mentioned.
I basically have given up calling or writing because I really don't think they care about what I think as a viewer.

The most recent example (as cited yesterday along with some serious errors in spelling and grammar) is the editing which resulted from calls, emails, snail mails, etc. concerning the fire bombing of the clinic on or about September 11th. The storyline was to include Nik being blown through a window as the bomb exploded (this scene was contained in an early promo). The scene was edited from the final product prior to air.
Yes, the audience response is critical at this point.

Snail mail is possibly the best method if your emails are being deleted as unread. Calls to the comment line must be recorded, counted, etc.
The execs include Frons, Lewis Roberts, Sweeney and Iger.
The soap mags are another avenue to pursue in regards to concerns about the program.
F.A.F.
Based on that promo, now you have little children around with bullets flying everywhere.
The concerns posted on the board yesterday as noted in your quote precipitated the suggestions to contact execs. Another poster graciously provided a list of names along with contact information.

Is there any word on SoapNet's recent expansion deal? Are they any closer to sealing it, or is it pretty much a done deal in the coming months? Thanks.
The deal or rather several deals are being negotiated. Recently, a cable corporation inked a deal with ABCD as to placement and airing programs via the company's internet service provider. A portion of the negotiations is also addressing duplication of stations in certain markets such as New York and Connecticut.
F.A.F.
Do you know why Frons would not commit to SN airing the Daytime Emmy Awards?

I suspect that it is related to the serious deterioration in advertising dollars for awards programs which correlates to ratings or the lack thereof.
F.A.F.
I'm sorry to bother you again, but what does "duplication of stations" mean?

For example, several cable companies in NY and CT include both the local ABC affiliate as well as the premier ABC station, WABC, Channel 7, New York.

That is it.

The tail (NS) doesn't wag the dog (GH) - it didn't re: NS2 either - the arc was planned this way for quite some time And the longer it takes NS to be greenlit the more latitude Guza will be given as he prepares his arc for the coming months.
That being said Scrubs fans have little to worry about
Ummm. How do you figure??
That first paragraph gives me lots to worry about!!

Babsy, breathe with me.

Are you kidding??
Putting words like Guza and more lattitude in the same sentence do not make me happy.

You are golden for quite a while yet.

I have some info for the week of Nov 24th. Seems GH's thanksgiving is all about nightmares. Patrick's nightmare makes him a very thankful man for Thanksgiving. Elizabeth's nightmare has her breaking down in Lucky's arms. Sonny has a nightmarish thanksgiving with his new relatives. Jax and Carly are forced into tight quarters. And Jason confides his worst fears to Sam.
Sorry, this was me.
GG

Some say that there are no plans for Patrick and Robin to be seriously disrupted.

first I have to say that I love this site. I found your blog this summer and have read it almost daily since. Fantastic! My question is: why do they keep doing the mob thing if it doesn't work for the viewers? and is it all because of Guza or other higher ups in within the show. Frons also seems like he has a good focus with SCRUBS so why doesn't he make it a priority to focus on love and family for a while and see if that works?

Is Kimberly still trying to negotiate with SN for somed of her series ideas for 2009 or is she currently just focusing on GH. It looks like Jason is on a roll with his television festival things and his Documentary that he is trying to get picked up.

I visit this site more than once a day and I love it! Keep up the fantastic work!

I'm glad TSH is a frequent read and thank for letting me know you enjoy the site. :o)

EB - Regarding the mob, I believe they're reluctant to take a chance on someone new (even Sri Rao marveled at the amount of work a M-F show entails), so with Guza comes the mob. I believe it's difficult to isolate what does/doesn't work for ratings, although the uptick around Scrubs wedding/GF return might solidify your reasoning. With that said, I've heard now is the time to voice your opinions, as it may have more impact than before.

I believe in a recent article Kimberly indicated a directing opportunity and writing an original program for SN. I'm hoping their outside projects work out for them, it's always better to negotiate for what you want when you have options.

Well Amy, that is WAY cool, fan gurl! I didn't even know about that part of Soapnet. You send lots of people all our ways, and we love it!

Great job, as always! Imagine the old days without all these places to visit! Oy...perish those thoughts! LOL

Ally (wishing I was headed to Miami for a certain rock star's cruise...sigh! Maybe next time!)

Ally! Well, thank you for sending a lot of people my way too. It's crazy how many new & popular sites there are since TSH started, if I didn't know the ratings are in a steady decline, I would think daytime has had a resurgence.

I'm sorry you don't get to go on his party cruise. :o(
