Soapnet sneakpeeks: Is it a rule in Port Charles that everyone has a sibling they didn't know about? Real rule or not, Patrick (Jason Thompson) isn't breaking it this week. He finds out that daddy Noah fathered another kid. And you'll recognize that man: Matt Hunter (Jason Cook)! Yep, GH's resident jackass is actually a Drake. Uh-oh.
Soapopera Source: Patrick feels bad for Matt and wants to help him; Robin asks Anna to investigate Matt on Wednesday, September 17.
Patrick receives shocking news on Thursday, September 18, and later cuts ties with his father on Friday, September 19. (source)

CU,
There's an anon on this board that seems to have some good info, backstage and storyline, but she really seems to be a Frons Fan First. She says he's a good guy, good businessman, really interested in doing the right thing for soaps, etc. What's your take on that and if you agree, why do you think ABC soaps are in such a mess if he's so good at his job.
I am not entirely sure you can ascribe fandom to the President of ABCD, however, he is a good businessman. I actually like him though I don't agree with all of his decisions and I think his inaction on GH specifically is hurting him.
ABC soaps are not in as big a mess as everyone likes to believe they are. Yes they are losing viewers but the financial model being what it is, they don't feel the pain in the same way as the P&G soaps or DOOL.
OLTL is turning around and if changes are brought to GH I have no doubt it will turn as well.
The biggest problem facing most network executives is they are looking for the next big thing and often chase rainbows looking to hit on the idea that's going to explode in a good way - they want to be like Apple or Facebook etc - on the cutting edge. The problem is, that's not the standard behavior of soap viewers even in younger demographcis - they are looking for consistency and those shows that deliver are rewarded.

Oh and just because people are doubting me, I was told that on 10/03 Scrubs, when the proposal(s) are accepted, they are in Robin's apartment and the ambulance is TRUE. Now I'm out for real (actually I left and came back).
~Two Reprieves Poster~
ooks like we get two weddings
well one almost wedding and then a real wedding
You do (or at least that is what is outlined)! :D
~Two Reprieves Poster~
Scrubs have a lot of very good stuff coming up too (do not miss 10/03 Scrubbies).
~Two Reprieves Poster~
Can you say what is up with the Patrick/Robin storyline? Was it always supposed to be this way? It just seems a bit slow/stalled not well thought out? Also was why is Matt a Drake?
I like Frons and I'm the one who always takes up for him on this board, but the "stall" is probably his fault. He was absolutely insistent that there be some synchronicity between NSII and GH. And Sri gets to tell his stories first. That has kind of tied Guza's hands on GH. (Which is probably a good thing) but seriously with the story Sri is telling, there's not a lot Guza can do on GH.
--
As for Matt being a Drake, I don't know how the final decision was made but I do know of some contributing factors. The original developmental plan for the character of Patrick Drake included a ne'er do well brother who was estranged from both Patrick and Noah. At some point they changed that primarily because of Rick Springfield's limited availability. They've never really had the time they needed to devote to the Patrick/Noah relationship. So throwing a scalawag younger brother in the mix didn't seem feasible.
--
They have big hope for Jason Cooke. And when they created the character they wanted to give him some ties to the canvas. So that was a big part of this but also, the character of Patrick has been somewhat limited by his lack of family. Rick isn't available a lot. Patrick really doesn't have friends. He was portrayed as such a womanizer than when he talks to women now, people immediately view it with foreboding to Scrubs. He needed a male friend which is why thy originally linked him to Ian. Matt is taking Ian's place in that respect.
--
So that's a lot of the reasoning behind making Matt a Drake. I'm not sure if that was the only reasonings, but those all did play into it.
how did things go at GH having to wait on Sri's version of Scrubs. Also is how is NS2 doing and is NS3 more probable than not?
NS3 is a go. I don't think there's any doubt about that. NS2 didn't start out as strong this year as it did last year but it hasn't lost any viewers and actually picked up a few the first two or three episodes so everyone is very pleased.
As for the first question, I'm assuming what you're asking is how did Guza feel about being second to Sri? I can't answer that. Guza was not around a lot this summer. There were all kinds of rumors that he was out, or maybe one of the other writers was running the show. I actually think he probably was in control at all times but he did a lot from home so there were no temper tantrums going on upstairs or him walking around with a big scowl on his face so there's just no way of knowing how he took it.

October 20----Rock and Roll Lullaby
October 27---Boom
Nov 3----Boom Bang
Nov 10----Boom Boom Bang Bang
Nov 17----Here Comes the Bride Again, (and again)
Nov 24----Things return to Normal. Well, not exactly.
Theme of the week for who?
The Show. It applies to different people depending on what is being focused on that week.
Daddy Dearest is(Obviously) about Noah/Matt/Patrick;
Matt definitely cares, hence why he builds a relationship with both robin and patrick in the coming weeks.
I am glad he includes Robin in that as well.
well robin is the one that glues them together kind of  She talks to both Matt and Patrick and tells them both to give it a chance and they listen :D
I'm so sick of scrub fans being attacked on here lately, its like we can't even complain about anything without being attacked
I'm going to make you feel better. I'm pretty sure Robin is going to tell Patrick she doesn't want any wacky hijinks at her wedding. I don't know when. It'll probably be taped one day next week so it should air in the 2nd week in October. But that came from you, and here.
I love that term.
A gentle reminder: Guza's pattern with Scrubs is two of everything.
Love plural/s,
F.A.F.
Thanks FAF. Why not twins?
HIV issues precluded twins. There was some brief discussions about twins, however.
F.A.F.
One last note-Frons' office received numerous calls along with messages on the comment line relative to the level of violence on GH this week. Discussions and meetings are underway.

And, sorry, as the insider, I like giving good news. I don't like giving bad news. And I have watched this board freak out over stuff and don't want to start it all back up again
Good news for ANYONE?
Scrubs - Please clap your hands for Mr. and Mrs. Drake and their daughter __
9/13
Patrick cuts him out of his life and he is gone. The whole arc lasts one week and is 90% Patrick's pain. Matt is like whatever I didn't really want to bond with either of you anyway. Patrick is the one who is mad and hurt and complaining to anyone who will listen
someone scooped that anna AND noah would be around for the birth..so i assume if he leaves, he'll be back before the baby is born..
Noah is not around for the birth. Anna is because she and Patrick and Macall angst over the baby or Robin decision. Robin like all good Guza wimmens is not awake for all of this drama
To be clear he isn't on every day so it is more like 3 or 4 days of this craptastic thrown together arc
But Matt KNOWS NOah is his father and Patrick is his brother, right? So why did he come to PC? for them or for another reason?
Thanks!
Scrubs - Please clap your hands for Mr. and Mrs. Drake and their daughter __. They will get married, but there is no specific date. But the engagement will be arriving before the little Drake does.
FH is done with GH after the baby/wedding scenes. She's finally had enough of being Guza-fied.
For the fake drugs. That is why he is like whatever
