News of this board has come to Prospect and that's why I decided to start posting here. People aren't happy. I know only the business information of Prospect and very little of the creative aspects. Frons is trying to restructure all actor contracts so their minimums will be for the month instead of the week. He thinks it will help the canvas balance out. If it doesn't work, expect to see mass contract terminations.
Yes, I'm legit. Yes, I'll be back.

Remember last year when scoops were very difficult to come by? The people of Prospect were found out and this found its way to Frons. Frons doesn't really mind leaks because he knows that message boards are truly a form of free advertising.
Scrubs appearances shouldn't change. If their contracts have a 2 day min. then with a monthly contract they will have an 8 day min. and 8 out of 20 days is pretty good.
---
It will be gradual. When an actor or the show has an out, it will be taken and a new contract signed. That has been the biggest complaint from those that this has been proposed to. It seems fishy, but the outs saved Frons. Actors will be paid the same amount of money, just at a different time and their workload may change drastically.
Can they negotiate new contracts that don't include minimums at all?? I have always wondered why the network would put that in a contract in the first place.
I imagine they could, but some actors only have a minimum of 1 day a week. John Ingle is guranteed 1 day, so under the new system his contract will be a 4 day minimum.
---
MB is already under the new structure from his contract renewal. This really isn't to save money, more to balance the canvas. MB, LW, SB and SBROWN have the highest gurantees (I believe 3, maybe 4). Now instead of having play all 3, 3 days a week and being airhogs, writers now have room to move. They just need to give them 12 days of work in a month as opposed to 3 in a week. They can do all 12 days at once or spread them around. This structure would have saved Stuart Damon and Jacklyn Zeman from the axe and Damon may be offered a contract.
WOW, I get it. The show could go over their minimums, but these MONTHLY minimums guarantee that they are on like 12 episodes a month, NOT having to be on FOUR days a week in order to keep in their contracts T&C! Thanks!
Ding Ding Ding! The writers have been bound by actor's contracts and now have more freedom to work other characters.
I like the sounds of this....so we won't have the airhogs anymore and we will see other characters more. I could live with this
Sound like a good start but they really need to fire Guza , airtime doesn't mean much without storylines. Good, well written, well thought out storylines. Guza can't do that anymore.... we need someone fresh
It has been considered. Negotiations were started with Sri Rao to either do a second season of the spin off, or if that isn't picked up to be a Co-HW on GH
Why would the DVD sales be part of the reason NS gets picked up or not? Wouldn't it take time to have all of those figures. I mean, they are still selling the NS1 DVD arent' they?
money is money.
Frons is the only one who can make the choice to play musical executives/writers.
A DVD release hasn't been decided yet. Viewers need to write Soapnet and express how they want to own season 2. That will also help get the ball rolling for a third season.
