5/31 Heard in the Waiting Room

  • Daytime Confidential has an interesting theory that GH has been letting go of actors or reducing them to recurring characters in order to free up cash. But for what? Tinfoil hats needed? or are they on to something...

AIG:
Can you drop something Patrick/Robin related before you go?
Another thing Scrub fans, I don't know why you guys are down. Scrubs are going to be so good. There are things coming their way that just play into their love for each other. Some issues are just stepping stones to get them where they need to be. Neither one is going to come off looking petty or crude. You will see the reason why. Patrick will be out of his mind with fear. Robin and the baby are his everything. They are being written for and the story has drama, love and misunderstandings. All the soapy good stuff. So enjoy.
Chat Up:
Do you know if anyone at Prospect has admitted or Corporate has determined that Guza's big adolescent shooting story did not translate the way he expected?
The negative press over it did not go unnoticed by the mouse house and Guza's mitigation strategy (EW interviews) did nothing to counter the tide.
Is there any concern that if OLTL and possibly AMC continue to improve in quality and ratings that GH may soon be the lowest rated ABC soap? I never thought I'd see the day where OLTL was tied with GH.
I'm away this week so I don't have access to the most recent info but I will say that there a few people muttering and swearing over OLTL's "surge"

"Jake" (source of the above)

Some of the Scrubs stuff was rewritten to work in a big story for Finola since ABC more or less promised her one when they threw their fit about Young and the Restless.
There may be some changes made because of last week's ratings, but the stories I mentioned above all stand to be impacted by the return of Vanessa which they are diligently working on so they aren't likely to change any plans for any of these couples until they find out if she's going to come back. Obviously, if she does, there'll be a major overhaul on the stories affecting these characters. (source)
