Well for those of you who loved and hated today I wanted to warn you about Tuesday-Wednesday, Anna brings up marriage towards the end of Monday. Patrick freaks. Robin and Anna leave to get Anna sobered up. Robin tells Anna to fix this. Anna says some pithy words and leaves. Meanwhile Patrick is getting advice from Luke. Then on Wednesday he and Robin talk. He offers a half hearted lets get married and when Robin gets pissed about his proposal he gets pissed because he think she put Anna up to it.
I should clarify Patrick only says that put Anna up to it line once and then after that Robin is like no I do not want to get married. His heart is in the right place IMO but he just does not get it.
And then she asks him to the birthday party?
They smooth it over after she convinces him she does not want to get married.
Is he sort of upset/angry because he put himself out there (regardless that it's an obligation basically) and she turns him down? So is he sort of disappointed that she's turning him down? Because that would sort of make sense. Even if he doesn't necessarily want it, him asking is a big deal to him I imagine and for her to turn him down would seem, to him, like a slap in the face. I can sort of see him being disappointed.
My interpretation based strictly on outline information is that he is relieved. The dialog may flesh that out more.
Luke offers some pithy life advice. I don't know exactly what it is.
I see people are twisting my words. I didn't say Patrick accused Robin. I said he gets pissed. Pissed is probably too strong of a word for both of their reactions. They both are frustrated. Anna's bomb forces them to ask where exactly is our future? It isn't dealt with in those scenes because Robin smoothes things over but my impression is that it is a stepping stone to get them to the point where they deal with that question.
Karmic to answer your question please don't be so focused so much on the wording. Patrick thinks Anna asks the question because it is something Robin wants even if she is denying she wants it. Perhaps puts Anna up to it is not the best wording. He thinks Anna is speaking about what Robin wants (source of the above)

Just so you know you don't have to wait for the food clue to see I'm right. On Monday Luke and Anna are still playing their game a removing more clothing. They are drunk. Pat and Robin arrive to take Anna back to the apt and that is when Pat leaves to go get some food.
Ta.

[To clarify]

Version #2:
Look I read what you were told about the scenes on Tuesday and Wed and they don't go down that way. Anna asks Pat when he is going to marry her daughter. They are in Robin's apt. Pat has just returned with food for them. He gets uncomfortable and leaves. Anna and Robin have a heart to heart. She calls Robin on the things she wants not the things she thinks Patrick wants. She doesn't want Robin selling herself short and she also comes to terms with being a grandma. They are really good scenes. Pat is talking to Luke. He says nothing much. The next day Pat is about to operate on Nik and Robin apologizes for her mom. He accepts. They are sweet with each ther. There are no hard feelings. He gets it but there is no botched proposal. No proposal at all. She leaves for Jakes party and after the surgery he meets her there. Things are good between them. You do get a scrubs propsal but it's not now. It happens when the time is right and the answer is yes. (source of the above)
