Patrick suppose to be so overwhelmed becuase legally he's noting to her and he's not allowed to know her medical condition and that scarces the hell out of him.
Only Mac is told first and then of course he shares with Patrick but because of HIPPA even kelly can't say a word to him.
That will start things turning around for him. (source)
Okay I think I get the Scrubs story : Robin is rushed to the hospital and must stay on bedrest for a while but there is complications but Patrick is shut out because he has no rights yet to the baby and robin , so he freaks out and hire Diane to give him some rights but Mac call alexis to defend robin's rights then things go the comedy route until it gets serious again and patrick thinks he and robin should get married so he could have some rights on robin and the baby , robin of course fights it because his reasons for marrying her are not really the ones she wants etc ..then Anna and Noah come back to be in the middle of all this , and I can actually see it end as a wedding , ELi sings at the wedding and all .
That isn't it. Robin doesn't shut him out at all at the hospital. He is right there with her and Kelly when she gets her prognosis. This is a set up for him to decide that he wants to be daddy. If you notice right before that he i still unsure.
thanks...so why does he seek legal advice? and why do scrubs fight ?
He seeks legal advice because he wants to know what his options are in regards to shared custody.
Patrick, Patrick ... this blows. Why must he do this while she is in the hospital? I swear, I think Patrick is ramping up her stress levels with all his crap.
She still isn't in the hospital. The health scare is elevated blood pressure and she is put on a few days of bed rest.
Sorry I don't get that. Patrick would automatically have more rights after the baby is born.
Custodial rights. Marriage is not something Robin is considering at all.
And what is her medical scare having to do with?
Thanks for answering.
One more time. Her medical scare is a plot device to make Patrick realize he wants to be daddy. That is all it is. right before that he is still struggling over what role he wants to take in the baby's life.
Robin doesn't shut Patrick out at all. Mac is the one that hires Alexis and not Robin.
Patrick wants to be the one that makes the decisions for Robin and the baby when something goes wrong and not Mac. He argues with mac, and Robin is not thrilled at all, but she doesn't hire Alexis, Mac does.
insider what does patrick do when mac hires Alexis?
He hires Diane to get some legal control over Robin and the baby. He also wants to be her doctor.
Insider,
Can you tell us what the health crisis is, and is Robin IN the hospital for more then a day?
She has elevated blood pressure. She is out of the hospital after a few days. (source of the above)
Okay here I go again. You guys are making too big of a deal out of all of this. The health scare is a catalyst for Patrick deciding he wants to be daddy. There is no big deal made about Patrick not being able to make decisions for Robin because Robin is awake for most of it and Patrick is given full access. Robin is skeptical of his sudden turn around but open and Mac is even more skeptical. Patrick decides he should figure out what his rights are. Goes to a lawyer. Mac misreads that. Eggs Robin on. She gets her own lawyer. Comedic antics ensue.
want to make clear that Patrick is not seeking full custody. He realizes that since he and Robin are not co-habitating that some sort of custody thing needs to be drawn up so he goes to a lawyer to start that process and yes he needs a lawyer for that as does Robin.
Yes. The resolution to the "tension" (hijinks tension) is them deciding they should live together. SI and Guza both spelled out this story for you all.
1) The health scare makes him realize he wants to be daddy.
2) Next he is simply seeking information. What he does is misconstrued.
Oh of course. Patrick the eternal victim of big bad Robin.
That isn't what happens as well. There are misunderstandings all around. Over zealous lawyers. It is Guza's brand of humor.
There isn't a custody battle. It doesn't reach battle levels.
So Patrick and Robin are in a good place during this?
I said before . Think of it as the blog wars combined with the vegas trip.
I get your point but you also have to understand that as JJY just backed me up it isn't just that Robin turns him down. It is also that Mac is coming on very strong. He is freaked and wants to make sure he understands what his rights are.
thanks for all the scoops, and sorry, I hope you know the frustration we are all feeling over this isn't directed at you, but at this stupid storyline.
The storyline isn't the best, but it could be worse.
From the sounds of it, Mac is what makes things worse and it just snowballs from there into a whole bunch of misunderstandings.
NOT legals rights to fight robin but to make sure the baby's father is there for the baby if anyting happens to the baby's mom. HE wants to be the dad and legally without marriage (which she refuses cuz she thinks that's the only reason he wants to marry her) he needs paper. paper so that NOT mac or any state person can take custody is she were to die. Because he loves the muffin.
Wrong. It isn't about her dying. It is just to see what his rights in general are because she is not open to his hey we should get hitched proposal. If she were to die it wouldn't be an issue because he would get custody. It is about custody since they aren't married.
in regards to Patrick and Robin they will have thier usuall misunderstandings but will work it out and yes they do get married this fall
I dont know as much about them as I do Jason and Liz but thats what i do know,
"Jake"
He wants joint custody.
What? Since when? He doesn't even want the kid.
th scare is a catalyst for him wanting to be daddy,
Let me spell this out. Patrick's first thought after his epiphany is we should get hitched. Robin shoots that down. Mac is threatening. Patrick is freaked. He goes to see what his rights are. It gets blown out of proporation. Diane/Alexis add fuel to the comedic fire. Misunderstandings abound. No one at first approaches this rationally. It is Guza's brand of humor. Yes it will probably be not funny. Yes it will probably be insulting to Robin and I would even guess Alexis (since they are favorite targets of his) but it isn't a serious custody battle or even really a battle. (source of the above)
Robin's health crisis kicks Mac into action. He hires Alexis in case she can't make her own decisions.
Robin has a health scare and has to be taken to GH
anyone? what did JJY say about his scenes with patrick?
He said they were top secret. But he's done 3 shows where he's been in Patrick's face over Robin. He's watching out for Robin. He said it was funny SK asked the question because he's in the middle of doing these very scenes right now.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Scrubs is broken up for Night Shift. Appears where this is all heading. He's looking to secure joint custody which means they are broken up and he wants to make sure he can legally have his kid. Someone must tell him babies are chick magnets.
They aren't. This is over and done with and they are living together by the time NSII airs.
um that lasted 2 weeks, this is through july according to Guza. The baby isn't even born, and Patrick is already looking to get his piece of the pie while the woman he "loves" is in the hospital.
It happens in July but doesn't last the whole month. It ends by the second week.
Also Robin isn't in the hospital that whole time. In fact she is out by the end of the week of 6/16. (source of the above)
