The Alexis/Leyla/Jerry stuff isn't that bad.
It's played for some laughs.
Jerry is spurned by Alexis beforehand.
Leyla is not passed out kind of drunk. She's sad, angry and flirting with Jerry.
They are about to kiss when Leyla throws up.
Alexis shows up and puts Jerry down for his bad boy ways.
Jerry accuses her of being jealous and wanting him and kisses her. She slaps him. They banter a bit more.
Alexis and Leyla talk enough for Leyla to open up a bit about falling for the wrong guy. Which Alexis relates to. She calls Patrick. The end.
For what it's worth the Jerry/Alexis interaction coming up has Alexis pushing Jerry away repeatedly. Jerry likes Alexis and won't go away.
Jerry does attempt to help Alexis around the New Year. Ric becomes a problem. (source)

Here is a little storyline change dish for you. Leyla getting shot by running in front of Patrick was not the plan at first. That was why a lot of people had the spoiler wrong. She was supposed to get shot during the gun struggle after AZ sent a wild warning shot Patrick's way. The last minute change was to give the character some sympathy for this upcoming arc. You can choose to believe me or not.
Ok -- I'll bite. Why do they feel she needs "sympathy" for the upcoming story??
They are trying to keep the character viable and they feel the way to do that is to remove her as a third party from Patrick and Robin. They feel the way to do that it to say that she was the innocent party in all of this. Watch for not only Alexis to sympathize with her about how mean men and for Patrick to apologize to her but for the GNO crew including Robin to feel really bad for her.
For Scrubs fans the good news is that she will be out of Scrubs romantically. The bad news is that if you want Leyla to pay it really isn't going to happen. (source)

If she's going to be out of Scrubs romantically, where is she going to land next in terms of a pairing? It doesn't seem like there's any place on the canvas for her to fit.
Through the end of December she will be on ice to let her bad welcome die down and then all I heard is after the first of the year they will test her on other parts of the canvas. (source)

Within the Next Month or So:
Georgie finally takes steps when it comes to telling Spinelli how she feels. But tragedy strikes before anything can come to pass.
Felicia recieves news that no mother every wants to hear. And Mac goes on the rampage.
Robin is stunned when a victim is brought into the hospital. Patrick attempts to help Robin deal with it.
A new suspect is zeroed in on... Logan. Scotty defends his son.
LuLu defends Logan but is stunned when learning of Logan's dirty record from the army.
Jason corners Logan and roughly questions him. Jason has doubts about Logan's guilt. (source)
