Yes he could.
He wouldn't be the first person who would but he could intervene and dictate some very specific changes to any storyline.

That's part of it. Keep in mind he has accountability for all of ABCD and there is currently another show that is more of an issue.

I don't know. I do know that Frons et al met with consultants several months ago but I don't know what came of it - it's pretty outside my frame of reference.

I wouldn't say that. There are many reasons why they are going in the direction they are

Opportunity for new/different storytelling and keeping the actors fresh with their pairings.

Chalk it up to wanting the cast to be excited about the stories they are telling and happy with their pairings - among other things.
So GH is not the first priority yet AMC or OLTL is since they are in worst trouble?

Yes.
It doesn't mean there is no attention on GH because there is but there are bigger problems at the moment.
Have you heard anything about Robin being the last attempted victim of the killer and surving, and this is what her premonitions are all about? Thanks
I haven't heard it but it wouldn't surprise me.
Chat up, so in the priority list for Frons is that AMC is urgent and GH is important but urgent -- saving the show from cancellation -- is more of a priority than GH because they are performing well enough to cover their costs?
More or less.
AMC is in a bad way and while there was some relief with its performance last week, there are no illusions that they have turned a corner.
GH is holding but still not performing where people want it to.
If another soap is cancelled or moved from a network to cable, it will cause some panic across the genre. Making sure AMC regains its strenght is not just important for ABCD (source)

Some assistance with performance was provided recently. Questions remain as to limited or short term run.
Yes, we all saw NLG providing marking assistance. That was one of the only episodes I have seen in the last month just for the pure comedy of it all. And missing her cue in the same episode was gravy.
Assistance provided entails more than NLG and RC ensuring that marks and cues are met.
Good to hear but I am a little bit sad we won't get to see more of that. Any fallout from her SSW appearance? Going over like a lead balloon can't win much support.
A number of factors are being considered. Again, the factor of the writers' strike may deter specific changes for the time being.
OK, so because before the strike the scripts had her in them, writing out her character would violate the union agreement?
Not necessarily. The timing of the changes including this minor detail is what is contingent upon the duration and outcome of the writers' strike. Larger picture.
Gotcha. So about the hurdles, can we see the finish-line tape?
Yes. If you recall from Dr. Doolittle, the animal denoted as "Push Me, Pull You" similar to the ongoing nature of Patrick and Robin.

[In regards to SBu being involved in the HIV pregnancy s/l] If you were an insider, you would know this is not true. The plan has always been for Patrick to be the father. Always. This goes back to before Jason T was hired. This is the story Kimberly returned to GH to do. That never changed. TPTB wanted you to think it was up in the air, thus Robin running around asking for sperm but in reality that was merely filler--a stall tactic. It created angst, it got the fans talking: mission accomplished. Meanwhile Kimberly pleaded ignorance (as she was told to do) whenever asked who would father her child. Anyone who tells you differently is no insider. (source)

A breakup for Patrick and Robin was planned well in advance. The prior breakups were not intended to last any length of time. This breakup was intended to last longer than many anticipated due to NS shifting to GH.
The realization is two fold relative to the pairing of Patrick and Robin complicated by a pending HIV pregnancy storyline; and the capability of the actress portraying a third party.

I guess I should put it like this, have TBTB given up on Leyla as a potential romance for Patrick, at this time?
What do you mean exactly when you say the realization is complicated?
And it sounds like Scrubs fans may have dodged a bullet since the "third party" doesn't appear to have the acting chops and therefore hasn't garnered much positive audience reaction? Would you say that is the case?
And, thanks for responding. I never get insiders responding to my questions. This is quite exciting. LOL.
Leyla will be changing storyline direction in the near future, if she remains on the canvas. Please note as a character/nurse she will still be involved in the hospital side of the canvas (again, depending upon her duration on GH).
The realization/s are complicated due to ratings, demos, revenues and talent for Soapnet and ABC Daytime. In addition, aspects include audience response to storytelling. For example, an accidental pregnancy was on the table. However, serious questions were raised about the timing of the pregnancy, its implications for characters along with responsible storytelling.
The audience response has not been discernable for the character (positive or negative). Indifference is a more appropriate term in regard to the response to this particular character. The character of Patrick and the storyline has received negative responses during this time period.

I have clarified. Patrick is chasing after Robin. Think early P/R. Leyla is there but of no consequence.

No. Did you even read my post? He is there hounding Robin. Leyla is background. His and Leyla's whatever is over by next week.

They may not have to deal with Leyla much longer. The character could be killed off in Feb, but thats still being debated. If she doesn't take in the next month she will be murdered.
