Night Shift Episode Titles and Synopsis:
Episode 9 (airing September 6): "Gutter Ball" Patrick's secret surgery on Lainey's uninsured dad may be a rare good deed on his part, but it could also be bad news for the hospital once nosy Jolene gets wind of Dr. Drake's illegal action. Meanwhile, Epiphany has something to say about Toussaint's past...and she plans on saying it to a lot of people. (source)
The paternity of Stacey’s baby is finally revealed, and Robin (Kimberly McCullough) is left heartbroken. Sadly, her dreams of motherhood fade into the distance.
Meanwhile, Dr. Lovell (James Harper ) is still not satisfied with the mishaps at the hospital. He insists that Jolene (Amanda Barker) find another victim.. this time, a doctor! When Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) unwittingly screws up Jolene's next move, she keeps him off track by teasing him, and playing on his softer side.
Regina’s (Angel Wainwright) confidence in her nursing abilities take a beating. She almost makes a fatal mistake, when scrubbing in on her first delivery!
Lainey continues to struggle with her father’s deteriorating health, and seeks guidance from a compassionate Cody.
In the meantime, Patrick (Jason Thompson) and Leyla’s (Nazanin Boniadi) flirtation heats up! Where will they take things? (source)

In: Nazanin Boniadi - Coming off her success run on GH:NS, the actress has been put under contract to continue the character in the daylight.

GH head writer Robert Guza admits to being a victim of his own success where spin-off NS is concerned. "It's nearly kill all of us but it's been an extraordinary experience. The viewers have responded, and we are having a great time," beams a happy but weary Guza. "Although I don't think any of us knew going in just how hard it was going to be. [At first] we were thinking that it was just a sixth episode a week of GH, but it turned out to be much more involved. It's a credit to not only the NS people but all the GH people that neither show seems to have suffered. Everybody stepped up, big-time."

"At the end of NS, a lot of what accumulated there is going to trickle off to GH," says Guza. "But whether you've been watching either show or both, you'll be able to pick up the action just fine." MedCam's chief counsel, Mr. Lovell, continues to set the stage for a takeover of GH. With Jolene in his employ and covertly performing his dirty work on the inside, Lovell informs the student nurse that one more "accident" needs to happen to facilitate the transaction.

The worsening medical condition of Lainey's father, Roger, makes it imperative that he undergo surgery as soon as possible. When the insurance company refuses to cover the procedure, Patrick, Leyla, Cyndy and Regina risk their jobs to perform a secret surgery. Unbeknownst to the team, Jolene gets wind of the operation and takes action to make Roger her next victim.

To Patrick's dismay, Robin has been grappling with pursuing custody of Stacey's baby. After much soul-searching, she comes to the decision to try to adopt. Robin arranges a meeting with a social worker and is granted a temporary foster care placement. Everything seems to be going her way - until a surprise visit from a man claiming to be the baby's father throws a monkey wrench into her plans.

Word spreads through the staff about Toussaint's past as the lead singer in the famous band "The Saints." Epiphany makes it clear that to this day, she is still one of his biggest fans. The gossip mill is working overtime. Why, staffers wonder, would Toussaint leave his glamorous lifestyle in the limelight for the line of work that he's in now? Someone takes particular note of Toussaint's previous musical achievements in the band.

Jason and Robin are not being written as romantic. They are simply using them as a plot ploy for each others stories.

Honestly, all I know is the basic outline is Jason/Liz and Robin/Patrick. with "many" bumps along the way.

NO. That is what I was told word for word.
He said Robin & Patrick & Jason & Liz is what is on the table along with Sonny/Kate & Carly /Jax but not to rule out Sonny/Carly.
I asked about Patrick & he said it was not as bad as people think. (source)
