Night Shift Episode Titles and Synopsis:
Episode 6 (airing August 16): "Love's Labors"
A split second decision could have long lasting repercussions for Leyla when the planet's hottest student crosses the line to save a patient's life. Meanwhile, an unlikely hero emerges after Stacey become trapped in a stalled elevator with Jason and Spinelli on the way to her emergency c-section. (source)
Stacey gets trapped in an elevator on her way to an emergency C-section, and Stan and Toussaint scramble to repair it. Elsewhere, Leyla's decision has different consequences for two patients. (source)

SOD (NS): Stacey is Trapped.....

Needing to escape her lawsuit troubles. Kelly throws herself into her work. As usual it's a hectic night shift. Dr. Lee is alerted that pregnant Stacey is experiencing pain. After evaluating her condition, Kelly determines that the hiv positive expectant mother needs an emergency C-section in order to save her baby.

Crisis Moment
Just as Leyla wheels Stacey toward the elevator, another patient arrives at the hospital who desperately needs her assistance. Leyla decides to Leave Stacey on the elevator with Spin and Jason to look after while she tends to the other patient. Jason remains levelheaded and tries to comfort Stacey, who is writhing in pain, but the high-pressure situation is too much for Spin to handle. In a panic, Spin pounds the 10th floor button. Suddenly, the elevator is jolted to a halt, trapping the passengers inside.

Confined Spaces
Once the GH staffers discover that the elevator has jammed, tension mounts when they realize that time is the essence to save the life of Stacey's baby. Jason does his best to keep Spin and Stacey calm during the crisis. Meanwhile Robin admonishes Leyla for leaving Stacey without medical supervision, even though Leyla's actions kept the other patient alive.

Rescue Efforts
Toussaint hatches a plan to fix the elevator to rescue Stacey and get her into the operating room immediately. A well meaning Stan steps into help, but he only slows down the process. While the repairs are underway, Toussaint discovers that the elevator breakdown was no accident. (source)
