7/16 Heard in the Waiting Room

  • So...I won't have access to my computer for a little while, which means there won't be any updates until the 28th. Bad timing with all the Night Shift buzz, huh...but real life intervenes. I'm wishing good thoughts to my traumatized Scrubbies to carry you through the 1st episode of NSII (July 22nd!) ... I have a feeling you'll be just fine...hopefully you'll come back as readers when I return...
  • Oh, and Jason Thompson broke records with the number of people logged in to listen to last night's Blogtalk radio interview with him. Just sayin'...

By clicking on ‘Read More’, you understand that you will be reading the latest Scrubs-related spoilers and speculations …some of which are pretty reliable and others may be designed to incite panic/false hope in a fanbase. Enter at your own risk!!

From EMI:
Go ahead. I'm saying right now the romance and sex on NS is very minimal and the length of the scenes is about on par with GH.
I'm obviously not Trish but I'm wondering how in the world you can claim to know that since the episodes of NS have no been available for viewing to anyone outside of the cast and production staff.
Okay, no skin off my nose, but when the length of the scenes is on par or shorter than GH remember someone told you what's what ahead of time. Their relationship, romance, sex is not a focal point of the show at all, at least not through what's been taped and available so far. But only info for episode 4 is available so maybe it will become more balanced later in the series like it did with NS1.
Insider #1 - I never said their relationship was the focal point of the show. It's the anchor of the show but it's not the focal point in every episode. But the episodes are still in the process of being written, filmed, and edited. Only a very small, select group of individuals is privy to viewing of the episodes this early considering they are still being edited together to create the whole show.
Insider #2
That is exactly what I know as well. It is the anchor but not the focal point. The way I was told is that they are each others touchstones through a lot of emotional things going on around them and that they both rely on each other a lot to be that anchor.

EMI: That's pretty much the gist of what I've got as well. I don't mean to say that I know details about the episodes themselves though because I don't. I'm not one in that small select group of people. Unfortunately I can't stay long and answer everyone elses questions. I have a dinner party to run off to.

I am going to post this again. NSII was never supposed to be a huge focus on the Scrubs relationship and if you notice neither JT nor KMc has said it will be. They have said Scrubs are in a good place and they are. If you go in expecting this to be some ode to Scrubs love story you will be disappointed. If you go in and expect to see them happy and in a good place and yes interacting but also having lives and stories outside of the romance that don't take away from he romance you will be happy.
I get all that but I just want to see some happy and shippy scenes as well as the rest of what you describe.
You will get some but not a ton. A lot of the action takes place at the hospital with some scenes at her apartment. If you expect a lot of shippy scenes you aren't going to see them.
So for Scrubs fans looking for romance or sex for Scrubs they're SOL on NS?
You will get some romance but not a ton. I have no idea why you all thought this was going to be some huge romance fest for them to begin with. Nothing in the press has indicated it will be.
Going by the assumption you're legit, then what is it an ode to? Big Stone? Jagger? Because that is what I sort of believe.
No one. It is an ensemble show with several stories going on.
So, the other characters can get romance and what not, but Scrubs can't because.....?
Who said the other characters get a ton of romance scenes either? Stop assuming. The other big romance is Leo and Saira and through 4 episodes they haven't had one romance scene.
I want all that too but I want them to have good scenes together too. Apparently, I shouldn't want that.
No one said they didn't have any good scenes together. They do but not a ton. That is the point. To boil it down to so black and white is not what it is.
The first episode opens with the couch shot. They have a nice scene when she wakes up after the car thing. Later on as Robin is recovering you get the straddle. There is a kiss in front of Jagger.
The second episode is mostly doctor mode but I believe there is a kiss or two in there.
The third episode Patrick and Robin have a talk about her dad not remembering her and he holds her as she cries.
I am looking forward to NS2 to find out if Sri is up to taking over HW duties at GH for Guza.
Sri isn't in contention for taking over HW duties on GH no matter what he does with NS. He's competing against himself to make NS good so it becomes a permanent fixture on SN.
I am sure that once again, Robin and Patrick will share the majority of their scenes with other people rather than eachother. I hate NS and what it has done to scrubs. I wish it never existed and Carly and Jax got to do it or something.
No they share a lot of scenes with each other as well. In the first episode it is focused on Robin's recovery. In the second it is over the Chinese girl and in the third it is over Robert. There is also some things in episodes 2 and 3 with them about Stone's autism. They actually talk to each other quit a bit but it isn't about their relationship.
So it's exactly like GH.
Sri or whatever his name is can keep it.

No actually it is very different from GH in that they don't spend their time talking in circles about their relationship. Still they spend time together but they actually talk about their lives and the lives of people around them
No, it's exactly like GH and you just said they don't talk about their lives. It sounds totally asexual and nothing but talking. If I wanted to watch that I'd just watch GH.
Really it isn't. Also I didn't say no sex or touching.
Guza is responsible for the scenes on the dock to begin with. GH has given me way more than NS ever has and ever probably will. I don't think they're going to get anything even like the docks moment. Robin and Patrick's intense, emotional scenes will probably be with anyone but eachother
And you are wrong about that. There is a hugely emotional scene in the first episode when Robin wakes up. Another one in the third about Robert's amensia and a pretty one in the second about Stone's autism.

word to the wise
NS spoilers and scenes are hard to come by. I wouldn't believe anything that is spilled on this board

Re: NS and Scrubs
The first scene is them having sex.
Is it the couch scene from the promo?
Yes and I should clarify that I believe it is an after glow talk but they are quite kissy and tocuhy with each other.

You do get stuff for them on NS that isn't on GH. They have actual lives outside of their relationshop
To the exclusion of shippy scenes.
And that is where people are twisting my damn words. I didn't say it was to the exclusion of "shippy" scenes. I mean yeah you don't get a whole lot of them talking about their relationship BUT they are still very obviously a couple.
I mean if you people expected it to be a 13 week sex fest you were fooling yourselves. It isn't for anyone on the show. Still there are couply scenes

The baby shower was a huge surprise. The shower gifts and effort by fans has generated a lot of discussions. The generosity of fans is overwhelming.
F.A.F.
Really? Amongst whom is it creating discussion? Does it FINALLY help them understand that Scrubs are popular?
Many do comprehend the popularity of Scrubs.
F.A.F.
There were literally mountains of baby gear. Every person I saw brought in armfuls of stuff. It really was amazing.
Pictures of the "haul" have been circulating among various offices, crew and cast.
Hoping I fixed the quotes correctly,
F.A.F.
I know that the gifts were donated. Do we know what organizations?
Debbie said Kim and Jason would decide and she would get out an email to everyone once the gifts were donated. ~ BP

One last tidbit...JT is circulating the Sims Video links to cast, crew, friends and family.

Have a wonderful time, Amy. You deserve it! We will miss your updates, but are thrilled you get some time away. Definitely look out for the European hotties---and bring one back for us both! LOL.

Ally (who totally forgot about Blogtalk radio--I hope there is an archive of it somewhere after the fact...)
