I told you all before the Scrubs story is for the most part over the the end of the first week of sweeps. I was off by a day. It is over for the most part by the first day of the second week of sweeps. Obviously there is some residual serios scenes on Monday but from then on it is wacky hijinks
she wakes up on Thursday but is still weak. On Monday Anna gets her second monologue with a weak robn and robin gets to say she will fight to live. No baby scenes with Robin that day.

Hey! Do you know what Scrubs do after the 6th?
They go home and the rest of the month is wacky new parent hijinks interspersed with some Matt/Patrick scenes
Where do they live?
Didn't ask. Was told they go home and the rest of the month is a "comedic" arc about being new parents and Matt/Patrick have some more scenes.
Is Wedding #2 still a go?
Yes which you have been told by TR himself.

Scrubs on the cover holding their baby...Emma
Robin falls into a coma because her blood won't clot and Kelly Lee nicks the baby's ear while performing the c-section (thus introducing the HIV aspect)
SOW: (SZ)
Oh, Baby, Robin's In Trouble!
JT speaks in the article. He says Scrubs were trying to have a normal delivery but at the last minute it’s too risky. They have to do an emergency C-section because the baby is in distress, with her heart rate dropping and the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck.

Kelly delivers the baby but JT says she’s not breathing right off the bat, so they’re worried but “then she lets out a scream, and elation follows.”

That celebration is short-lived because as Patrick is holding the baby he notices a nick on her ear from the C-section. So there’s panic with blood-on-blood contact between Robin and the baby. Now they have to test her for HIV.

Kelly comes back with the results of the test and then Robin passes out.

JT says it’s been a rollercoaster energy-wise and she just falls apart. Patrick then finds out she might have DIC, the same thing the woman, Stacy, who died of HIV [sic] on last year’s NS, had. The blood doesn’t clot and Stacy died after delivering a healthy baby girl.

The same could happen to Robin. JT says that Patrick goes into a tailspin with going from not wanting kids at all to facing the reality that he could be raising the baby on his own. “He tells her ‘I can read books and figure out when to feed you, and how to feed you, but being a father in my heart and really loving you the way you deserve to be loved – I don’t know if I know how to do that.’ He’s cracking at the seams a little.”

Surprisingly, he gets some help from Matt. JT notes that everyone is very supportive but he ends up talking to Matt, which is good. It’s nice for Patrick to have someone there, even if they don’t know each other that well.

Patrick’s then takes on the emotional task of feeding his daughter for the first time. JT says he’s trying to be a father and get over his fear a little. He’s taking a small step.

But can Robin make it back to her new family?

Insider info: I rarely dish like this. Those of you that read the site know I hardly mention comings/goings and behind the scenes stuff. (Personal stuff is still off limits, imo) Well, I can tell you this: NIGHT SHIFT was a huge, huge success. Not just in ratings for SoapNet, but for call-in’s, PR and letters to the studio. So much so, SoapNet is considering a full time 30min show, all year (save a few week hiatus). How does Scrubs work into this? Not sure, no one is sure. I hear some of the recent unhappy campers from GH (not getting storylines) may move over there. I also hear some bigger names may be going as well. They will do double-duty for awhile but slowly, move over to SoapNet. The network recently expanded into a bigger market as well, setting the stage. They’d like to get it “the go to show” for that 18-24 year old set. Does that bode well for vets? Hmmm, dont’ know. (source)

Here is a tidbit. Patrick assists Kelly on the emergency c-section. I don't get it either.

One couple will get engaged
One couple that dislike he each will get married
One triangle will be formed
One love will be lost
One love will be found
One young couple will be married
Two couples will get pg but only one baby will be born
Two secrets will be revealed
New alliances will be formed while old ones are destroyed

Sweeps is focused on Luke and Laura, Robin and Patrick and the Mob. Well mainly the mob.

Matt has scenes with Patrick.

So what is the big surprise that Guza is planning at the end of sweeps?
New special effects.

Guza says Robin is the emotional center of GH. Karpov first casualty of sweeps.

Robin Nearly Dies
Robin delivers a healthy baby girl via C-section, but before family and friends can bask in the good news, Robin loses consciouness and her loved ones hold a bed side vigil. Guza says " This story has a great juxtaposition of teh sweet and tragic. Sometimes, it's right on top of one another. FH (Anna) says " Everybody who is there takes that moment to evaluate and reflect about the past. You have Patrick and Matt, Maxie and Spinelli, and Mac and Anna, each in their own worlds, and you see how it affects them. It's nice that the writers took the opportunity to explore that." As Robin's life hangs in the balance, Patrick fears the worst.FH says "everyone is very concerned. Anna refuses to be negative during the crisis, and what she sees is how many people care for this young woman. Guza says "I think Robin's character is the emotional center of GH. We're playing this out beat for beat and we'll truly see the agony and the ecstacy."

Patrick has two long scenes/vignettes that include what I would say include monolouges. One with Matt and one at the bedside with Robin and the baby. Jason and Anna also get monologues but Jason's is like many of the Liz/Scrubs scenes where he is speaking to Robin about her life but circumspectly referring to Jake and his life. Mac doesn't have a monologue at Robin's bedside. He may speak to her but if he does it isn't a long speech.
Does Robin wake up to Patrick and the baby?
Yes which you have been told time and again.
You know what Patrick monologues there are but you have no idea about Mac?
Where did you get that? I said Mac may speak but it isn't a monologue. There is a group family scene at her bedside on Wednesday. How can I be more clear than that? By the way if you don't want information then I won't drop it.

Baby Scrubs makes her big debut on Monday November 3. Also on hand during this week will be Rick Springfield as the proud grandpa

I just told you. It has not received a green light yet, nor has any final decision been taken on the creative team.
What is holding things up?
Much of the hold up has to do with where SN is going - that will determine whether it is 13 or 22 weeks long. They are looking at worked and what didn't and seeing how they can improve
I loved the homosexual s/line o f Kyle. It was written in a way I was not put off. I want more of Kyle and Eric -any hope we get them in NS3?
It's a timing issue. Frons was very pleased with Chad Allen and would like him back but if the actors book other work then they will have to make other plans
JT said that even though NS is an ensemble show, it really revolves around the couple of Patrick and Robin
Yes, however, SN's goal is original programming and once the go ahead is given, they will proceed with NS3 - it is not dependant on whether Patrick and Robin are still a couple.
Are you saying that Guza has the go ahead to do as he wants to them since NS2 was a success? Not being mean here but I am not watching Patrick or Robin with someone else on NS3.
Again, it's all about timing. The pairing can't go indefinitely into a holding pattern until NS3 is sorted, if it gets sorted. The arc will have to be approved by Frons but there are no "orders" at the moment one way or the other
NS revolves are the couple Scrubs.
Then you haven't understood my point. SN wants an original program that they can build on - it cannot revolve around a couple or an actor who may not be around to follow it through. They want the show to survive on its own - with or without certain characters and with or without them being a couple.
Kim is working on her SN and possibly Lifetime projects with Frons ... I wouldn't worry about her too much.
KMc is doing Lifetime projects? Any hints of what she is doing? Will she be available for NS3?
It has more to do with the projects she is pitching for SN - and SN trying to ookup with Lifetime. I tend to believe her role with NS3 will be behind the scenes - but that is just my personal belief, nothing that I have heard.

Can an insider tell me what Liz is doing this sweeps?

Week of the 3rd - M-W Dealing with scrubs

i am looking forward to one thing though...robin holding her baby.

I hope she gets to before she goes into a coma. She does hold the baby before she passes out. And I don't think it's technically a coma she is in.
Ooh, tell us more. Can you please say what Scrubs are doing after 11/6?
Dealing with the baby's HIV scare. Believe it or not Guza didn't lie about that one, they will bring HIV into the story. I was as shocked as anyone.

There are not plans for a third party at this time
Thanks. Do you know what the story will be for them after this pregnancy story ends?
No I don't. As far as I know no one does but a select few and I doubt they're posting those stories on message boards
I know they will destroy Scrubs at some point. I just don't see it happening within the next two months and one week.
It isn't. It isn't in the plans as they currently stand.

I think they would do it. They seem to hink he (JT) is the reason for Scrubs success.
I would have agreed with you pre-2007, I really don't think they think that now.

They didn't think that then, they don't think it now, it's viewed that both make it work. The Robin marathon on SN is as much responsible for a second season of NS as anything.
No notes to pass to class today, just some clarity.

There is something for all of Jason's pairings this sweeps period, past and present.
Jason and Robin - Very nice bedside scenes for fans of this former pairing. Jason and Patrick have some great scenes as well.

I have no idea if the Patrick/Liz stuff is true, but my friend won a phone call with JT and talked to him 2 days ago, and I will say he gave away no real spoilers, but only said that he was happy with his story. And he & Kimberly are having a great time with the baby. He also mentioned Matt, Robin & the baby as his storyline, but never once mentioned Liz.

The decline in ratings for NS1, ratings decline associated with the writer's strike, response to third party angst, and orders from on high contributed to the rehab of the character of Patrick.
Patrick's future will not only be tied to Robin and their baby, but his storyline will be expanded to include Matt. In addition, he will enter various other storylines along with some medical dramas in the future.
JT requested more medical based storylines for NS2. The storyline on GH will also accomodate this request.
What about Robin?
The finding the love of her life, pregnancy, birth, weddings and marriage are the culmination of Robin's storyline relative to HIV and hope.
Will they tell the story of Patrick and Robin trying to balance work, relationship and baby?
Yes, the extent to which these aspects of their lives will be airing on GH is yet to be determined. If and when NS3 receives final approval, it is anticipated that their storyline will continue to include some of the realities of new parenthood, careers, life and love.
Robin will continue to have a story following her weddings and birth of her child.
WHOA, hold up... Someone at ABCD actually pays attention to what FANS want and the actors' input??? Color me shocked!
Yes, Frons is particularly interested in the ensemble that surrounds the characters of Patrick and Robin.
Why don't the writers seem to be interested in them?
Please note that some writers are very interested in writing for Patrick and Robin.
I am departing.

Letters to Muffin (Part 5)

Part 5:

Noah sat staring at the page that was earmarked for him. The page where he was supposed to impart some wisdom to his granddaughter. The problem was words were not his strong suit, they were Mattie’s. They always had been. The last letter he had written had been his resignation from the hospital in Georgia he’d been working in. He’d tried writing letters to his son during their time apart, but could never get the right words to come out, so he’d just let the miles grow between them. They would still be at odds with each other, or he would be dead if this fiery brunette hadn’t forced her way into their lives and found a way to make them reconcile. He would always be thankful to Robin for so many things, the most important being the chance to be a true grandfather to the child she was having with his son.

Taking a deep breath he picked up his pen and adjusted the journal on the desk before him.

My beloved granddaughter,

Ya know I never thought I’d get to say the word granddaughter. I was pretty sure that either my son wouldn’t let me in his child’s life, or he wouldn’t have a child. But life is full of surprises and not only am I getting to be in my son’s life, I get to be in yours as well. You see for a long time your father and I didn’t get along. There was way to much pain between us. You see your grandmother Mattie passed away while I was operating on her, and I couldn’t face your father. So I walked out of the hospital and out of his life. Sure we saw each other, but it was as if we were strangers, not father and son. I let Mattie down and most of all I let your father down. But your mother changed that. Your mother brought us back together, and I will forever be grateful to her for that.

Your mother is a force to be reckoned with. She was determined to get your father and I talking and well she succeeded. Finally after all these years I have my son back. And now I’m getting a granddaughter. To tell you the truth I’m a bit nervous about that. I know nothing about little girls. You see your father is an only child, and well he’s a boy. A boy I know I can play race cars with, but girls, girls want to have tea parties and play with dolls….and as much as I know nothing about them….I promise you here and now this grandfather will be at every tea party you have. I’ll sit in those little chairs, and drink imaginary tea out of the cutest tea seat any little girl could ask for. Because I’m going to spoil you rotten. It’s what grandfathers do; just don’t tell your mother and father.

I have to admit muffin, still think that is a ridiculous name to call you that I was seriously at a loss for words after your mother asked me to write this letter. I wasn’t sure what to say. I’ve never been good with words, just ask your father. But this is important to your mother, and something that you will have with you for the rest of your life, so I am doing this. It might not be the best letter in the book, but it’s written in love. And love my granddaughter is something you will never ever lack. There are so many people that love you already. I’m sure that there are letters in here that already talk about how big your extended family is. You see your mother is beloved in this town and because of that you will be too, and trust me when I tell you that it’s not a bad thing.

As I was sitting here thinking of what to say to you I realized that I should tell you about your grandma Mattie. It really sucks that you will never get to meet her, but I’m sure you will be like her, especially since your mother is. It’s weird, but when I look at your mother, I see so much of my Mattie in her, and I wonder if that is what drew your father to her. Whatever it was that drew him in, I’m just glad he embraced it and didn’t run away. Your mother and father were destined to be together, you can see it in the way they love each other. It is the kind of love I had with your grandmother. The kind of love that lasts for all time.

Your grandmother was the love of my life. She was brave, funny, and beautiful, full of life, and never took any of mine or your fathers crap. She called us on our behavior at every turn. She taught me how to love, just as your mother taught your father. Mattie was the best thing to ever happen to me, she made me a better person. I realize that now, after everything that I have been through after she died, I can honestly say that I let her down. I wasn’t the better person; I wallowed in my pain and pushed your father away. And trust me I thank God everyday that he forgave me and let me into his life. Mattie would be happy that we are talking and that I will get to tell you stories of your grandmother. In fact I know that Mattie would be overjoyed to be having a granddaughter. It’s what she wanted for your father. She wanted him to find the woman he was meant to be with, the woman he couldn’t live without and make a future with her, and your father has done that. He found your mother and they are having you and starting their future together.

I hope if nothing else that what you learn from your parents, and even from me, is how important love is. Love is the foundation of life. It’s the best feeling in the world. And I hope that one day, when you are older, say around 30 when your father finally lets you start dating, that you find your one true love. That you get to experience the love your parents have, the love I had with Mattie. Because Muffin, if you can experience that, then I know that you will be happy. Always follow your dreams muffin, even if that means that you aren’t a doctor like your parents……find what makes you happy and go for it. Achieve what you want out of life….but always make time to find your true love, because your life will be so much better for it.

I wanted to include something in this letter, something of your grandmother. So when I was looking for a picture of your father in an old box of photos that I had put in storage years ago, I came across a copy of one of your grandmother’s favorite poems. So I thought that I would include that in my letter, partially because it’s from your grandmother and partially because it was inside a card I gave her on our 10th wedding anniversary.

I carry your heart with me

I carry your heart with me(I carry it in
my heart)I am never without it(anywhere
I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
I fear no fate(for you are my fate, my sweet)I want
no world(for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
I carry your heart(I carry it in my heart)
By E.E. Cummings

I had found this poem in a book of poetry that your grandmother was always reading. The page that this was on was marked with the corner folded down, so I knew it was one of her favorites. So I copied it into a card for her, and this became a tradition. Every year around our anniversary she would mark another poem in this book and it would become the wording for her anniversary card from me. It was one of the many traditions that your grandmother and I started, and one of the many many things that I loved about her.

I promise that once you are a little older I will tell you all about your grandmother, I have the family picture albums to show you too. I love you granddaughter, and I can’t wait to meet you.

Love always and forever,

Grandpa Noah.

Noah shut the journal and placed his pen beside it. He knew if he went back and read it that he would want to change it, and he’d always told Patrick to go with his first instinct, so he was going to go with the fact that he felt that his letter, short as it was, was good enough. The rest of what he needed to say he’d tell her after she was born. Pushing himself back from his desk he started to walk to the kitchen when there was a knock on his door. Opening it he smiled when he saw his son on the other side.

“Hey.” Patrick said smiling as he walked into his father’s apartment.

“Hi.” Noah said. “If you are here for the journal your timing is great. I just finished my letter.”

“I came for that, but also to give you this.” He said handing him a piece of paper.

“Wow.” Noah said staring at the sonogram photo that Patrick had handed him. “She’s getting big.”

“Well she is due any day now.” Patrick smirked. “And trust me Robin is more than ready.”

“I bet.” Noah said as they sat down on the couch. “By eight and half months your mother was more than ready for you to be born. You were a big baby and you made your mother very uncomfortable for the last few weeks. I never saw a woman cheer about her water breaking before. I mean your mother was so excited she forgot to be scared.”

“She wasn’t scared at all about giving birth?” Patrick asked him.

“Not at frist.” Noah said. “But once she got to the hospital and the contractions started getting worse, then all bets were off.” He said with a laugh. “But it didn’t last long. The moment your mother saw you, she couldn’t stop smiling.”

“What about you?”

“I had never felt so much love and pride as I did the moment they handed you to your mother and I saw you lying in her arms. All peaceful and content.” He said. “You know what I’m talking about when they put your daughter in Robin’s arms for the first time. This feeling of calm protectiveness will suddenly appear.” He said. “But at the same time this unending love will swell up inside you. You will instantly fall in love with your child and fall even harder for Robin.” He told his son. “I swear to you I have never loved your mother more than I did the day you were born.”

“I can’t wait.” Patrick said. “I want to meet her. I want to see if she looks like Robin. God I hope she looks like Robin. Then I get two of her. Two perfect Robin’s to love.” He said with a smile.

“I am so proud of you Patrick.” Noah said. “And your mother would be too. You are them an she wanted you to be.”

“I wish she was here.” Patrick said. “I wish she was going to get to meet her granddaughter.”

“I do too.” Noah replied. “But I promise you that between the two of us, your daughter will know your mother.”

“I know.” He said standing up and gripping the journal in his hands. “I love you dad.”

“I love you too son.” Noah said as he hugged his son. “I love you too.”

TBC…………………Up next Brenda.

• Don’t believe all those Night Shift 3 rumours floating around online. Head writer Sri Rao sets the record straight by telling the Suds Report, “I’m not joining GH, and no one has contacted me about penning Night Shift 3. And if there are plans for a NS3, it’s news to me.” Moreover, Rao wants to clarify he didn’t pen this week’s Scrubs wedding. “I had nothing to do with it,” he answers. Translation: the nuptials will suck you-know-what.
• If you’re like everyone else on the planet and fell in love with Rao creations Claire, Eric, Patricia, and Kyle, you Sri out of luck. According to the show’s publicist, “there are no immediate plans to bring any of the characters back to GH,” reports Soap Opera Weekly.

They share scenes every day. He is concerned about her. When he goes to visit Robin he brings up how Sam had the same thing to Patrick.

they talk about sam's baby?
Not Jasam. Jason to Patrick.
Why would he talk about a dead baby to a man whose baby might have medical issues?
He isn't. He's talking to Patrick about how Sam had the same condition Robin did and clearly Sam lived. Maybe in his own way he's trying to give Patrick some words of comfort?

Executive Sweet - Jason Thompson

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Jason Thompson talks about being Executive Producer for a new documentary on blind athletes.

"Victory Over Darkness is a documentary that I produced with a good friend of mine, Donnie Eichar, who produced and directed it," says Thompson. "It's been five years from when the cameras first started rolling. It's a documentary about three blind athletes who made history by competing in an Iron Man triathlon. They have varying degrees of blindness. Heidi started off blind at birth. She's never seen a single thing. She had to learn how to run in order to compete in the Iron Man because prior to that, she'd always shuffled her feet. Charles is a 62-year-old. He was a middle school teacher for 35 years and no faculty members or students knew he was blind. He faked his way through everything. He was born with macular degeneration. Basically, he was born with the eyes of a 60-year-old and they got progressively worse. Then there's Dave. A couple days after Christmas, when he was 22, he woke up from a coma two days later and found out that his stepmother had shot him twice in the head. She shot and killed his father and then she overdosed on pills, so he woke up not only dealing with the loss of his family, but was blind. So, Donnie followed around these three amazing humans for four years and it was in post-production for a year."

Victory Over Darkness premiered in September in Los Angeles, with Thompson's GH and GH: NIGHT SHIFT co-stars in attendance, including Kimberly McCullough (Robin), Carrie Southworth (Claire), Adam Grimes (Kyle), Ethan Rains (Leo) and Dominic Rains (ex-Leo). Of his new "role," Thompson says, "It just feels really good to want to get something like this out there. It's a story that should be told and people should see. It's heavy at times, but there are simplicities in it that make you sit back and say, ‘Wow!' It's incredibly inspiring. The film is a testament not only to the subjects, but to Donnie and the other partner, Matt Miller. They moved heaven and earth to get this film made. I'm honored to be a part of it."

You can view the trailer at http://www.donnieeichar.com/VOD/01.htm. The film is also supported by Creative Visions Foundation which supports "creative activists:" people who use media, the arts and technology to create awareness of critical issues and catalyze positive change in local and global communities. Donations are being accepted by the Foundation to help this project educate, inspire, and ultimately change the audience's perception of the blind.

SOW ~

THE SOAPBOX

by Mala Bhattacharjee

Soap fans are increasingly unhappy with their favorite shows. Fractured storylines, high character turnover rates and a a lack of family drama and romance have people flipping away, deleting shows from their TiVos and just plain giving up on the genre. It seems like daytime is in need of rejuvenation -- or at least a refresher course in Soap 101.

Fear not, such a thing actually exists: General Hospital: Night Shift, which just wrapped its second season on Oct. 21. In just 14 episodes, NS head writer Sri Rao brought soaps back to the basics. Here are five examples of how.

1. Key into a core family.
NS has this in the Scorpio/Drake clan. Chief of staff Patrick and harried researcher Robin are the show's foundation, and vital bricks and mortar came from Robin's father, Robert, and his medical issues, as well as Robin's old friend, Jagger and his autistic son. No matter what else happenend on Night Shift, you knew everything came back to Robin, Patrick and their loved ones.

2. Have plenty of love in the afternoon.
Again, Robin and Patrick's love story is a featured aspect of the show; even when they fought, it was clear they're the "It Couple". Viewers were also gifted with new couples in Saira and Leo, Epiphany and Toussaint, and Kyle and Eric -- and reintroduced to old ones, like Robert and Anna. Kisses, hot love scenes, basic cuddling and comfort were all there, in just the right doses.

3. Stick to character-driven conflicts. No flash necessary.
The biggest drama on NS didn't come from its warring skinheads or explosive finale; it came from a health crisis and an infidelity story, respectatively. Robert's colon cancer and Leo and Claire's one-nighter spiraled out and gave material to everyone around them, and were both rooted in deep emotion. There was no need to embellish with bells and whistles. All the show had to do was pull from its characters' histories and relationships.

4. Reflect your audience.
NS boasts a cast of diverse men and women, mirroring a society populated by the same. Characters run the gamut from young to old, gay to straigh, white to black to brown. And there is no distinction made; just good, simple storytelling that is fair and balanced for everyone. Leo's Iranian heritage and Kyle's sexual orientation are a part of them but not the sum total of who they are. They're people, just like those who watch the show.

5. Respect your cast of characters.
No matter how many dumb choices the staff at GH made while working on the night shift (engaging in kidney auctions, falling for patients, cheating), there was never a question of how much the-powers-that-be enjoyed crafting every single one of them. From little Stone to dead Dr. Ford to fallible Claire, everyone was richly captured and treated like an A-lister when it was their moment to shine.

Every show on the day shift should have their moment to shine. Maybe then the stars will be back in viewers' eyes.

On Tuesday, November 4, Robin and the baby's lives are in danger

Patrick and Robin Meet The Littlest Wedding Crasher

JT says Patrick is trying to keep his mind off things so he decides to do rounds at the hospital. "He definitely knows that he really wants to marry her, but a couple of things happen."

For one, Anthony Zacchara is rushed in requiring emergency surgery for an aneurysm he suffers. Matt volunteers to do the surgery but Patrick doesn't want the Z's to blame his brother if something goes wrong. JT says Patrick steps up and it's a good moment between him and Matt. It's about as warm and fuzzy as those two brothers can be right now.

The surgery is long and complicated and when it's over, Matt drives Patrick to the chapel so that Patrick can change his clothes. Patrick shows up with his shirt untucked and tie untied but he gets there by the skin of his teeth.

JT says Patrick tells Robin that he's really sorry but he had an emergency brain surgery. She tells him it's okay, he's there now and that's what's important.

Sweeps:
Scrubs Wedding: There are many more twists that I am not going to give away. Robin's HIV status will play prominently in the birth and the aftermath. We've researched this heavily.
GH's Robin & Patrick's Wedding!
Guza says "a ceremony does occur and it's wonderful. In this time frame, there is also a birth. We've been planning this culmination in their arc for over a year now. But it's going to be enormously complicated. You knew that. (Laughs)." FH laughs & says they are calling it the almost wedding. The weeks begins with Robin and Maxie working on the wedding preparations, and Patrick is clearly out of his element. Despite their efforts to help, Anna and Mac are both a little panicked about the nuptials. FH says that "Robin is the one actually keeping Anna calm. It's interesting how they wrote Robin's character because she really turns into a woman on that day. Anna just steps back and lets her daughter take the lead. Robin is incredibly together." It's a good thing too because when Patrick is unexpectedly called in to perform a last minute surgery-the entire congregation-except Robin-fears he's a runaway groom. Patrick comes through and then, Guza says "the ceremony is rudely interrupted when Robin's water breaks." FH says the wedding falls through and their off to the hospital. Anna is so excited for the baby to come and she drives to GH in a high speed chase to get them there. But then they run into complications with the birth and things take a much more serious tone. Guza says it's very emotional. But this is one couple who've proven they can handle a challenge.
TV Guide Canada: Future Emmy nominee Tristan Rogers (Robert) tells The Suds Report he's GH-bound after Night Sri's finale next week. "I'm back for at least three episodes for Robin and Patrick's wedding," he says.

Liason? Not done but I have grown tired of repeating that. I could tell you they stood in front of the altar together holding hands and it wouldn't be significant. I could tell you the real reason why Robin wants Jason at her wedding and you wouldn't say it was foreshadowing. So I just won't tell you
AIG
After all the stalling and crap can you really blame anyone for not believing anything positive about Liason? They are not togather as a couple ino because if they were, then that would be shown. What I see is Liz forever chasing after Jason. I'm ready for Liz to be allowed to move on.
IA and I still have no idea what that means.
What it means? I think it means this.
Robin tells Liz that one of the reasons she wants Jason at the wedding is so he'll see beautiful Liz and get ideas in his head. Liz doesn't know how to feel about that. Robin says that if Liason end up together, she'll be estatic. So she asks Liz to indulge her on her special day.
How's that?

- GH has gone a much better job of keeping sweeps spoilers under wraps this time. Partly because things keep being rewritten. Multiple versions of breakdowns are also being sent out to combat leaks.
Believe It or Not
Anything on NS3 yet?
Discussions held. It is expected there will be another season. SOAPnet is pleased. I'm sure you've heard this before I'm just sharing what I know.
Believe It or Not
Any reassurances that Guza and his merry band of hacks will not be invited to get their grimy paws on the last piece of GH that I still like?
Robert Guza's name has not been discussed in preliminary meetings regarding NS3. It is expected Sri Rao will return.
Believe It or Not

Morning SD,
Just popping in for a quickie ;)
Actually call in period. If you want to see certain characters, if you want to see romance, vets and adventure, CALL IN.
Oh and all the sharks are circling B. G. I tried to tell you this is the shakiest he's been at any point in his tenure. You should all be trying to take a "bite" out of him with letters and calls to BF.
Sorry will see you next week.

Patrick makes a medical decision for Robin.

Ok… I asked some questions yesterday and got some answers late, last night.
JT and KiMc want to do Primetime and if Night Shift is around for what looks to be awhile they will probably drop down to more of a recurring status on GH and sign with Night Shift. Have not heard yet if NS3 is a go yet or not.

More from Lil Sharks..
No. You should call and call and call. And then write, write and write. I would question anyone who said that happened. Sorry but calls are monitored. And to verify my status, something that is known at ABCD and to other insiders, GH gets more calls 10:1 than AMC and OLTL combined. And that hasn't been broadcast to the outside as suits think it reflects badly on AMC and OLTL.
I believe you. This makes sense on all accounts, I mean this is part of a billion dollar conglomerate, not some free-wheeling start-up.
Anyone who thinks a business the size and reputation of Disney doesn't protect itself legally, doesn't understand business at all.
I'm out sorry I'll be back next Tuesday.
Bye SD.

Evening SD,
Traffic is horrible here in SoCal, and I'm going out but just to let you all know, even if you think I don't know much about anything, the one thing I think I've never mislead or misdirected you on is mail and calls here at Prospect. I have told all you little sharks for months to please call or write. IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE, especially now. If you've done so before, and you doubt the effectiveness of efforts such as these, I can only tell you that B. G. has always been given a great deal of leeway until now. Ratings are not secure, the show is more precarious in Demo's than it's been in years, and fans are becoming more vocal.
Thanks
Not staying

Watch, the primetime NS drop is a lie or something. Because I would LOVE that - providing Guza is not writing NS3, of course.
It isn't SnD. Discussions relative to NS3 are ongoing and have including conversations with the princpal actors as to the future.
cu
Oh thank goodness.I really love the show and i want two on it preferably transistioning away from GH.
Part of the larger issue remains the market reach of SN - Frons would really like to extend that significantly so as to maximize funds available for original programming.
So, he wants NS3 to have a larger audience than what SN now has the potential to bring in? Am I understanding that correctly? Does that mean that Fronz wants to wait on production of NS3 until he has the audience of say a Lifetime show? Which in turn would be mean more money to produce the show?
He doesn't so much want NS3 to have the larger audience, he wants SN to be in more homes - if it's in more homes he has more revenue to play with for more original programming including NS3. Timing is going to be an issue, however, and they may need to proceed with NS3 prior to any SN expansion which would lead me to believe they will choose a 13 week option at that point rather than 22 weeks.
Thank you for clearing that up.
Do you know if Kmc and JT are wanting to do persue other primetime avenues other than just NS3?
From what I've heard they would both be open to other work but much of it is dependent on their contracts. Kimberly's interests outside of GH are expanding in to more behind the scenes initiatives.
Hey CU!
Are they any closer to nailing that down over the next six months?

There has been some positive talk on all fronts, last I heard but I don't know where it fits in terms of timetable at the moment.
Chatup,
Do you think Sri is still in the mix for a potential 3rd season of NS?

Yes I have reason to believe he is.
CU ~
Oh... So NS3 is probably gonna have the same look as NS2?
Do you know how NS2 did on DirecTV? Was that a sort of test?

As I said, it's a question of timing. If SN expands into more homes, a 22 week show with a bigger budget is feasible and a better investment. If it doesn't, it becomes costly with smaller returns than you would hope for.
NS, to me, has tried to be a bigger show than its budget allows for which has made the production values weaker (in my opnion)
I haven't heard about DirectTV
And I'm kinda interested in what you mean about the production values, if you don't mind elaborating a bit. Because I think it looks way better than NS1, but there are still problems -- particularly when they shot certain scenes with like a single-camera perspective, or whatever.
It made it look like a bad documentary when they tried it, which might have just been the camera they were using. I'm not sure.

this is my personal opinion (I feel the need to keep repeating that) but in the episodes I've seen, there have been continuity issues, scene transitions have been choppy and uneven and some of the camera work has been rather shaky. Much of that has to do with budget and what your budget allows you to hire and do
there is definitely a difference in look between the two shows but as someone not invested in either, I find this year's show to be biting off more than it can chew.
but, that's my personal opinion.
chatup, why would BF allow KMc to do outside work if it could potentially change the course of what they want for NS3? It can't be beneficial for him for her to be MIA for another season or not seen on GH either. I don't get the situation with her
I'm not sure what you mean. The work that she is interested in is primarily behind the scenes and given she is under contract, ABC/SN has right of refusal to any work she wants to take on. If she's given the go ahead to do something, then it's because there is time in the schedule.
Does calling and emailing help too? Or just letters?
Are campaigns more or less effective than regular letters? Postcards? Or are they given less weight due to association with the internet?
^^^ Very curious about the campaign & post card aspect ^^^

campaigns tend to be less effective than well written, articulate, individual letters. I wouldn't recommend a campaign.
Calling the comment line and Frons can help as well. Emailing is less effective
cu
Hey Chat-up
Why is the GH cast so large? They keep bringing in these new worthless characters and the stories just get worse.

I don't have an answer but I can give you my opinion
cu

Go for it.

My opinion is that the HW is easily distracted by shiny new things. I think he has been in the positon so long, he bores of the core characters and is always in search of something new to bolster a storyline, rather than taking a fresh approach to what he has in front of him.
Now, he has an expensive cast that isn't delivering and that's a problem whereas AMC and OLTL have smaller casts and in the end can do more.
cu

Major players in sweeps: Sam, Jason, Sonny, Carly, Claudia, Anthony, Jerry
Minor players in sweeps: Robin, Patrick, Liz, Maxie, Spinelli, Kate, Olivia, Nik, Nadine, Luke, Laura, Lucky, Scotty, Alexis, Johnny, Lulu, Ric, Tracy, Jax, Matt
Fans that love the mob will love this sweeps. Lots of activity centered around the key players: explosions, marriages, shoot-outs, deaths, etc. Bob Guza expanded the budget to include all the action that was needed.
The minor players will have limited airtime devoted to their respective stories outside the mob.
